Itanagar: The Special Investigation Cell of Arunachal Pradesh Police has on Thursday arrested a state government official in connection with the fake appointment of primary teachers in Longding district, SIC (Vigilance) SP Anant Mittal said on Friday.
The arrestee has been identified as Jashi Wangsu (40), a trained graduate teacher and accountant at the office of DDSE, Longding.
The SIC, which is probing the illegal appointment of 28 primary teachers in the southern Arunachal district, has on July 27 arrested a retired government official, Jomdo Lona (61), the then Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE), Longding, for his alleged role in the job scam.
Though the state government had in the month of June terminated all 28 teachers following the recommendations of a three-member Fact-Finding Committee constituted by Education Minister Taba Tedir after allegations of illegal appointments were made by a local students’ body.
