Imphal: A day after two people including a police commando and a student were killed by suspected Kuki militants on Friday, three more people including a police personnel were injured when Kuki militants fired gunshots in three separate incidents in Bishnupur district on Saturday.
Reports said that personnel of the India Reserve Battalion (IRB) attached to the Bishnupur police commando sustained bullet injuries on his thigh when suspected Kuki militants fired at Kwakta ward No. 9 under Moirang police station around 8 am on Saturday.
On the other hand, one youth, Warish, 18, son of Ayub Khan of Ward No. 8 of Kwakta village sustained multiple bullet injuries when Kuki militants fired in his own home. He is currently undergoing treatment at PHC Kwakta, police said.
Meanwhile, a farmer identified as Y Ranjan, 34, son of late Kaoba Singh was injured on both legs when suspected Kuki militants fired upon him while he was working at his paddy field around 9 am. He was first admitted to Bishnupur district hospital and later shifted to Raj Medicity, Imphal for further treatment. Fortunately, they are out of danger, police added.
