Manipur police seize 16 kg of opium in Churachandpur

The police party also seized one Kenbo (Myanmarese) bike bearing no registration number of Zaupi camp which is about 15 km from Singhat police station, allegedly used by the accused.

Imphal: Manipur police Sunday arrested two persons along with a huge quantity of drugs.

The police party also seized one Kenbo (Myanmarese) bike bearing no registration number of Zaupi camp which is about 15 km from Singhat police station, allegedly used by the accused.

The arrested persons have been identified as Thangbiaklun Guite, 40, son of late Nengzamuan and Nangkhenmang Munluah, 42, son of late Khamthang. Both are from Suangdoh village, Churachandpur district.

About 16 kgs opium in a gunny bag was seized from their possession. 

The arrested persons and the seized items were handed over to Singnhat PS for taking legal action and investigation, said a press note from the PRO, Manipur Police.
