Bengaluru: Karnataka Minister MTB Nagaraj on Friday met senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa and demanded a ticket for his son Nitesh Purushotam from the Hoskote assembly constituency.
The meeting comes a day ahead of the meeting of BJP Central Election Committee, of which Yediyurappa is a member.
“I met BS Yediyurappa today and asked for a ticket for my son from Hoskote. I will abide by the order of the party’s central leadership. The party has assured me of giving a ticket to my son,” Nagaraj said.
Replying to a query whether he would contest from another seat, he said he would not contest election this time because he is pitching for his son’s candidacy. “How can I contest from anywhere else? I have worked in the constituency as an MLA, and I am confident that my son will win,” he said.
Nitesh is an MBA graduate and served as the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike corporator.
