Dimapur: 80 families render homeless in major fire

Altogether 7 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the devastating fire, but bursts of around 10 LPG cylinders made the fire uncontrollable, yet the fire was brought under control within two hours.

Kohima: In a major fire that broke out in thickly populated Master Colony under Kuda Village under Dimapur town last evening on Saturday destroyed more than 20 houses, rendering hundreds of people of 80 families homeless.

Official sources said that the fire broke out from a house at around 07.00 PM and immediately spread to the nearby houses, however, the actual cause of the fire is yet to ascertain and investigation was on to confirm the cause of the fire. 

Altogether 7 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the devastating fire, but bursts of around 10 LPG cylinders made the fire uncontrollable, yet the fire was brought under control within two hours. 

The loss of property is still under investigation and there was no casualty reported so far.
