Kohima: As the election campaign for the 14th Nagaland Assembly elections is over on Friday, all inter-state borders have been sealed to prevent any undesirable elements and materials from being transported into any assembly constituency from outside.
According to a release issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP-Crime), who is also the PRO of Dimapur Police, in compliance with the Police Headquarters Election Cell, all interstate borders will have to be sealed to prevent undesirable elements and materials from being transported into the assembly constituency from outside and to apprehend them if they attempt to do so.
In this connection, the DCPs of Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland are directed to ensure the following at every interstate entry point under their respective AORs:
He stated that all checkpoints would be sealed from today evening, February 25, 2023, until the evening of February 27, 2023, and that no thoroughfare would be permitted.
The DCP also stated that it would increase border patrolling, apprehend anyone attempting to cross, and coordinate with neighbouring districts and bordering state authorities to ensure proper border sealing.
However, the movement of essential commodities and emergency services into the state should be coordinated, the release said.
