City journalists protest against beating of Marathi TV journalist at Kaneri Math

Total 52 indigenous cows lost their lives and another 30 were serious, after eating stale food. While a journalist of Marathi news channel TV-9 Marathi Bhushan Patil and his colleagues cameraman were suddenly beaten by some unknow people and expressed protest for recording of the incident.

Kolhapur: City journalists and electronic media journalists Saturday staged demonstrations at and in the front of district collector this afternoon to express their protest against beating up incident of a journalist of Marathi Chanel TV-9, who was covering news of 52 cows dead incident due food poisoning at Siddhagiri Kaneri Math where seven-days long Sumangalam Panchamahabhutam Lokostav’ commencing under the guidance of Adrushya Shree Kadsiddheshwar Swami Maharaj and demanded to take action against the culprits.


Journalists, led by Kolhapur Press Club(KPC) president Shital Dhanvade, gathered at in front of district collector office and shouted slogans against the administration of Siddhagiri Kaneri Math who tried to hide the news of cows death from social media and demanded to take action immediately against culprits those responsible for beating of a TV channel journalist who was covering the news of cows death yesterday.

Later a delegation led by Mr Dhanvade and KPC office bearers members, met Tehsildar Santosh Malate and handed over a memorandum of their demand and request to take action against culprits those involved in beating incident.
