Imphal: The Cyber Crime Police Station, Manipur, arrested one Adil Khan, 24, the son of Makakmayum Islaur Rahman, a resident of Lilong Sambrukhong, Thoubal, from Kilokri, opposite Maharani Bagh, Delhi, on February 10.
He was impersonating one Askar of Lilong Sambrukhong, Thoubal. He defrauded and cheated a number of people via social media and transferred the stolen funds to MRB’s (Manipur Rural Bank) A/C and PhonePe. He claimed to have obtained approximately Rs. 2,000,000 from various victims through impersonation.
“A regular case has been registered at Cyber Crime PS for further investigation,” said the PRO Manipur Police in a press release.
