Sikkim Additional Advocate General submits resignation

It is to be mentioned here that a number of political parties were demanding his removal following some observations made by the Supreme Court about Sikkimese Nepali Indians.

Gangtok: Sikkim Additional Advocate General Sudesh Joshi resigned on Wednesday.


In his resignation letter submitted to the Chief Secretary here, Joshi said it should come into effect immediately.

In the letter, Joshi alleged that some “baseless” and “unfounded” allegations against him were doing the rounds.


‘Some baseless, unfounded allegations against me are doing the rounds in Social and Electronic media, devoid of merit. I have always been sincere to my dear State of Sikkim,’ Joshi added.


He said in such a situation his conscience did not permit him to continue.
