Aizawl: Minister for Art & Culture, Govt of Mizoram R.Lalzirliana inaugurated ‘Digitization of Museum Objects’ in a short function organised by the Department of Art & Culture at Mizoram State Museum, Wednesday.
R Lalzirliana said that digitization of museum objects is an important milestone in the Art & Culture Department’s effort to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Mizoram.
He acknowledged and appreciated the work put in by all the officers and staff on successfully implementing the digitisation project.
Under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Pune Centre has created a museum portal for the 8 North Eastern States called the northeastheritage.in. It aims to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the northeast states by digitizing, documenting and preserving museum objects through Cloud-based ICT Solution Project.
