NE’s rich, diverse culture has to be preserved: Arunachal Dy CM

Itanagar:Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Sunday inaugurated the general public congregation during the Tai Ethnic Cultural Festival of all Tai communities of North East India at Mahavir Lachit Borphukan Ground at Kakopathar in Assam’s Tinsukia district.


“North East has a very rich and diverse culture; it has to be preserved by all. I laud the Tai brothers and sisters for preserving their rich cultural heritage. Tais of North East had greatly contributed in the freedom struggle. It’s important that the younger generation must learn about the history, cultural heritage and carry forward our rich legacy,” the Deputy Chief Minister said in his address.

The Deputy Chief Minister emphasised the importance of such cultural festivals, as they help in preserving and promoting the culture of all the communities of the North East region.


He also highlighted the importance of unity and brotherhood among all the communities, while encouraging the people to celebrate their culture and traditions in a safe and responsible manner.


“As a proud Tai-Khamti of Arunachal Pradesh, it was a delightful experience to share the space with my fellow brothers & sisters of the Tai-Ahoms, Tai-Phakes, Tai-Khamyangs, Tai-Turungs, Man Tais & Tai-Lais from different pockets of Northeast India,” Mein stated in a social media post.
