Patna: Annoyed at the comments of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar regarding the speculations of JDU parliamentary board chairman Upendra Kushwaha shifting his loyalty towards BJP, Kushwaha commented satirically that the taller the leader in JDU the more he is in contact with BJP.

On his return from New Delhi after getting treatment Kushwaha told news persons at the airport here on Sunday that in his party the taller the leader the more he is in contact with the BJP . He said that it is improper to draw political inferences just on the basis of his photograph with some BJP leader that too in a hospital.

Kushwaha further said that he was in a hospital in New Delhi but surprisingly his political postmortem was being done somewhere else.
When asked about Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s remarks about him that he ( Kushwaha) had earlier deserted the party on two to three occasions, Kushwaha said that his party ( JDU) too was with BJP twice and snapped ties with it.

Commenting on the statement of the chief minister that anyone was free to go anywhere, Kushwaha said that except him who else can decide about him continuing in JDU or not?

Kushwaha emphasised that he was with the JDU and was more concerned about it getting weak. He claimed that he was trying to strengthen the party.

Earlier while replying to the queries of news persons about the speculations of Kushwaha crossing the fence again and his closeness with the BJP, Nitish Kumar had pleaded total ignorance. He had maintained that anyone was free to go anywhere. He had said that Kushwaha had earlier deserted the party on two or three occasions and and it was not known to him what he was presently thinking about.

As it is Kushwaha was admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi a few days back following some health complications. Some senior BJP leaders had called on Kushwaha in AIIMS sparking speculations on his deserting JD(U) and joining the saffron party.

Earlier Kushwaha’s name as Deputy Chief Minister was doing rounds in the political corridors to which Kushwaha too had publicly expressed his wish saying that he was not a Sanyasi (hermit) and it was good that his name was being discussed.

The CM, however had settled down the speculations saying that the number of ministers had been fixed in the Grand Alliance. Kushwaha is apparently annoyed with the statement of the CM since then.
