Kohima:The Election Commission of India on Saturday informed that the total number of electors in Nagaland was 13,09,651.
Of them, 6,53,616 are male while 6,56,035 are female. The state has 6,970 PwD electors, 1,675 centenarian (100+) electors and 30,049 first time voters.
Addressing a press conference in Kohima, the panel highlighted various initiatives and programs taken up by the Commission to conduct elections with the highest standard of transparency, accountability and credibility.
The media persons were also briefed on the steps and measures initiated to promote a clean and fair election. It also appealed to all the eligible voters to participate in the electoral process.
Other officials who attended the press conference included Election Commissioners Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goel, Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer V. Shashank Shekhar and officials from the ECI and CEO Nagaland.
