Patna:Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thurday stressed the importance of popularising Bihari cuisine, saying that every Indian plate must have at least one such delicacy.
During his Samadhan Yatra Nitish Kumar inspected various ongoing developmental schemes in Darbhanga district and reiterated that at least one Bihari dish must get a place in the plate of every Indian.
He said that the products of Bihar were in high demand outside the state and even in foreign countries.
Highlighting the benefits of Makhana which is cultivated in large scale in the Mithilanchal region, Nitish Kumar said that several steps have been initiated to improve the production and its marketing.
He said that Makhana is full of nutrients and maintained that his government was emphasizing on export of it.
Speaking about Kadirabad floating power station of 1.6 Megawatt capacity Nitish Kumar said that fishery is being done beneath the Solar Power Plant in this project.
Stressing the need for increasing solar power generation he said that his government was concentrating on renewable energy especially solar power.
Regarding construction of All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Darbhanga Nitish Kumar said that the land for the same was being made available to the centre by the state government. He said earlier he had proposed to upgrade Darbhanga Government Medical College Hospital into AIIMS but the centre did not agree and decided to construct it separately.
Replying to a query regarding controversial statement issued by Bihar education minister on Ramcharitmanas Nitish Kumar pleaded ignorance.
