Sikkim Police using E-Scooty on MG Marg maintaining peace & helping public

Gangtok: To maintain law & order and modernize the police system, Sikkim Police has acquired electric scooters.

The policeman on duty rides the self-balancing e-scooty through the town while patrolling.

Police on duty can be seen moving from one end to the other on Self Balancing Standing E-Scooter, as referred to in other countries. So, far it has proved useful for the public.

”Any complaints can be investigated and resolved at MG Marg. It is also beneficial in providing instant help to the needy. Presently we have 2 Scooties, one has been provided to Sadar Police Station and other to Traffic branch, ” said Loday Dadul Bhutia, Head Constable, Sadar PS.

In line with police sources, patrolling personnel are available 24×7 if tourists encounter problems, if there is a fight between people, if anyone becomes ill, or if anyone needs assistance this personnel assist them.

The public and even tourists getting their first sight of e-Scooty are seen watching it with surprise, which implies that not many cities in the country have started using those.

However, with Sikkim’s modernization and desire for e-Revolution, gradual change has come where feasible.
