New Delhi: A Special Court in Delhi on Saturday issued notice to Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav over a CBI petition seeking cancellation of bail granted to him in connection with the IRCTC scam.
The CBI has sought the cancellation of Tejashwi’s bail in the case, pertaining to the alleged irregularities in granting the operational contracts of two IRCTC hotels to a private firm.
In its petition, CBI has alleged that Tejaswi threatened CBI officials thereby influencing the case which amounts to defying bail conditions. Special Judge Geetanjali Goel, taking cognisance of the application, issued notice to Tejashwi and sought his response in the matter.
In this matter, CBI had lodged a case against 12 persons for alleged irregularities in the allotment of maintenance contracts of two IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Puri in 2006. Tejashwi and his mother Rabri Devi were granted bail in 2018 by Special Court in the matter.
Special CBI Judge of MP/MLA’s case Geetanjali Goel after hearing the CBI plea issued notice to Tejashwi to file his reply.
