French Foreign Minister to visit India

She will travel to Mumbai for engagements with industry leaders and site visits on September 15.

New Delhi: French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna will pay an official visit to India from September 13-15 to discuss bilateral, regional, and international issues.

Colonna will hold talks with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on September 14 on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

She will travel to Mumbai for engagements with industry leaders and site visits on September 15.

India and France have a long-standing strategic partnership, strengthened by regular high-level consultations and growing convergences in various areas.

Colonna’s visit will pave the way for further strengthening of the partnership across trade, defence, climate, migration and mobility, education, and health sectors, the Indian Ministry said

.

India and France held consultations on UN Security Council (UNSC) last month in Paris and agreed to strengthen their ongoing cooperation on issues of mutual interest, including Counter Terrorism, UN Peacekeeping, and Reformed Multilateralism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron recently reviewed ongoing bilateral initiatives including defense cooperation projects, and cooperation in civil nuclear energy, and also discussed important geopolitical challenges including those related to global food security.
