New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday launched a fresh attack on Delhi LG Vinai Saxena, alleging irregularities in payment to khadi workers when he was the chairman of KVIC.

Addressing a press conference here, AAP MP Sanjay Singh, said “Another scam of the then KVIC chairman Vinai Saxena came to the fore. Around 4.55 lakh artisans were paid in cash despite the High Court had ordered that no payment should be made to them in cash.”

“The Central government should arrest such LG. There should be a CBI-ED probe against VK Saxena,” he alleged.

The MP also tore the legal notice sent by the LG to party leaders, days after they had alleged Saxena was involved in a scam during demonetisation in 2016 when he was KVIC chairman.

“We will not be scared or cowed down by a notice sent by a ‘corrupt’ person,” he said.

Saxena termed the allegation as ‘false and baseless’.
