Imphal: The Department of School Education, Government of Manipur said that it has no plans as of now to convert aided schools to full-fledged government schools, said a press note issued by the Deputy Secretary, Education-S, Monday.
This clarification from the Education (S) department came about following information that some unscrupulous people with vested interest are spreading rumours that government is considering the conversion of aided schools to full-Fledged movement schools.
According to the press release, information has also been received that these people are collecting funds from teachers/ staff of aided schools. It further stated that the Government is fully committed to transparency, and if any aided school is to be converted to a government School, it will be done under a transparent policy of the government.
It appealed to the public and more particularly the management, teachers and non-teaching staff of Aided Schools in Manipur not to fall prey to such rumours/ unverified claims. It further issued a stern warning that if anyone found indulging in giving or taking money for conversion of aided schools to government schools, appropriate action as per law will be taken against them.
