Night curfew imposed in Sikkim despite few Covid-19 cases

Gangtok: The state government has imposed a night curfew in Sikkim to prevent a surge in Covid-19 cases like other states.

The decision was taken after Chief Minister PS Tamang attended the meeting of chief ministers through a video link chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

All the restaurants, bars, discos, pub, gym will have to shut down at 10 pm.

Further, he has also announced that there will be no vehicular movement after 10.30.

He also stressed on wearing a mask and maintaining social distance also.

In the last 24 hours, Sikkim recorded three new corona positive cases.

There are 46 active cases.

The death toll in the state continues to be at 135 as no deaths have been recorded due to the infection.

In the last 24 hours, 2041 Health and front line workers, people between 45 to 49 years of age with comorbidity and senior citizens were inoculated.
