New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke to Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and offered all support after a major landslide claimed several lives in Noney district.

Modi tweeted: “Spoke to Manipur CM and reviewed the situation due to a tragic landslide. Assured all possible support from the Centre.

“I pray for the safety of all those affected. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. May the injured recover soon,” he said.

Eight persons including two Territorial Army personnel were killed, 23 rescued and around 50 people were reported missing due to a massive landslide near the Tupul Yard railway construction camp on Wednesday midnight in Noney district.
