Agartala: Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee on Friday has announced to mobilize the resistance volunteers against the motorbike-borne miscreants of the ruling BJP during ensuing by-elections, which have allegedly been attacking the opposition parties’ offices and houses of the supporters across the state.
The party president Birajit Sinha said that the ruling party has created the motor bike-borne gang with the indulgence of former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who made life terrible over the past four years. They reduced all the elections held during the BJP-IPFT regime to farce by triggering massive violence.
“The opposition parties have been persuaded in various ways to get intervention from the police and the government but nothing has happened. Not a single criminal has been arrested despite lodging a series of specific complaints with the police; rather it was found that the FIR listed criminals moving freely with Chief Minister and top BJP leaders. Finding no other alternative, we had to constitute well-organized resistance volunteers who will prevent the miscreants from now onwards,” Sinha said.
He said as part of the strategy initially four groups have been constituted with a proper briefing for by-poll bound four constituencies and gradually a similar volunteer team would be raised in all 60 constituencies.
“Our volunteers are not to attack BJP or others but to resist the criminals if resorted to any attack,” he added.
The BJP has started destroying our flags, banners, and campaign materials in the Agartala constituency and started terrorizing the voters now and complaints against 16 miscreants of the ruling BJP have been lodged against the criminals but no action yet. So, no other option left for Congress but to resist such attempts, Sinha pointed out.
