Rajkot: As his government completes eight years in office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said he has left no stone unturned to serve the country and has not done anything that should embarrass anyone in the country.

“In the last eight years I have left no stone unturned in the service of the motherland. It is the ‘sanskar’ of the holy land of Pujya Bapu and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel that in these eight years I have not done anything that should embarrass you or any citizen of the country,” the Prime Minister said.

He was addressing a public function in Gujarat where he dedicated the Matushri KDP Multi-Speciality Hospital at Atkot in Rajkot.

He said his government has made sincere attempts to serve the country by following teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

“The BJP-led NDA government at the Centre is completing eight years of service to the nation. Over the years, we have given top priority to the service of the poor, good governance and welfare of the poor. Following the mantra of Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Samadhan, we have given a new impetus to the development of the country,” he said.

The Prime Minister spoke in detail about the welfare schemes of the government.

“We deposited the money directly in the Jan Dhan bank accounts of our sisters and mothers. Money was deposited in the bank accounts of farmers and labourers. We also arranged free gas cylinders so as to ensure the kitchen of the poor continues to run,” he said.

Referring to the pandemic, Modi said, “When the epidemic started, there was a problem of food, we opened the granaries of the country for the poor.”

As part of his visit to Gujarat, the Prime Minister will address a seminar of leaders of cooperative institutions in Gandhinagar.

More than 7,000 representatives from various cooperative institutions will participate in the seminar.
