Thane: Day by day the Covid cases have been surging in the Thane district, as 937 cases surfaced in the last 24 hours, the authorities said on Friday. The total positive cases in the district now stand at 2,73,130.
With six death cases, the number of death cases has spiked to 6,321 with a mortality rate of 2.31 percent, the authorities added.
So far, 2,58,718 patients have recuperated from the infection, which took the recovery rate to 94.72 percent. There were 8,091 active cases in the district at present.
In the neighboring Palghar district, the COVID-19 case count has gone up to 46,510 while the death toll is 1,207,, as per authorities.
