Imphal: Education, Law & Legislative Affairs Minister, Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh Wednesday distributed Smart TV for digital classes for some schools in Imphal West district. The programme was organised by District Administration, Imphal West at Kombirei Hall, DC Complex, Imphal West.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Minister Basanta Kumar expressed his appreciation to the Administration of the Imphal West for conducting such a programme for improvement and implementation of the governmental schemes. He said that he has started in a speedy manner for the improvement of the education system since he took charge as an Education Minister.
The Minister said that as education is the backbone of a society, the method of works taken up earlier in the education department may be made with clean intention and mind. He further assured that he will start the method systematically for the improvement of education in the state.
He maintained that for the development of the society, priority will be given to education though it is crucial, critical but it can be solve with proper budget. With the scheme of the Government of India, like SSA, RMSA, RUSA infrastructures of the schools get better, he said.
He said that under the guidance of the Chief Minister of Manipur, discussion for the improvement and step forward in the educational sector has been held with officials and experts of the department. The Smart TV given away to some schools by the Imphal West Administration is an example of the initiative taken up for starting digital classes that will benefit the students. He also expressed his desire to utilize those funds meant for education with good intentions, he added.
The Minister said that he will visit all the districts to enquire about what preparedness and plans each Deputy Commissioner has to take for the development in the field of education Sector.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of quality education in the State. The students of Manipur have great talent; if we train, lead and show the right way, they can do a lot for the development of the State. He also extended his gratitude to the teachers for their sedulous service in shaping the future of the students, measuring from health to basic commodities for one and all.
He also reiterated that required infrastructure for educational institutes in the state would be revamped appropriately to provide the best of learning experience for the students. He also informed the benefits and advantages of digital education for the smart TVs that were distributed for learning to enhance the minds of students.
Basanta assured that as a concerned Minister of Education, he will work with total integrity for the best outcome and all round development in the Education Sector of the State. He suggested that on no school bag day which falls on Saturday, moral lessons about good character, nation building and service to the society must be taught to the students to add quality education.
The Minister asked everyone to give suggestions for the betterment of the education system of the State. Minister also said about the need to work from the ground and the maximum complaints he got from the people are about the shortage of teachers. Steps will be taken to solve this issue in future, he added.
Functional President Deputy Commissioner Th. Kiran Kumar, IAS also highlighted the importance and required infrastructures for the education system during the function.
Yumnam Huidrom High School, Kumari High School, Samusang Santipur UPS, Lilong Higher Secondary School, Hindi Higher Secondary School, S.K Ideal Higher School, Keisamthong High School and Lamdeng High School are handed over Smart TV for digital classes by the Chief Guest at the function.
Also present at the programme were Zonal Education Officers, Zone-I,(Khuyathong) Imphal West, Suchet Khumukcham; Zonal Educational Officer Wangoi, Imphal West Akoijam Bimolchand; staff of Education departments, SDO, SDC of Imphal West and teachers from different schools among others.
