Manipur beat Gujarat in Santosh Trophy

Malappuram: Manipur beat Gujarat by 2-0 and garnered three points from the third Group-B encounter in the Santosh Trophy National Football Championship at Kottapadi stadium on Thursday.

For Manipur, man of the match awardee Sudhir LaitonJam took the lead for the winners in the 47th minute while Siddharth Suresh Nair scored the second goal through an acrobatic shot in the 67th minute of the match.

This is the second defeat for Gujarat in the Group B.
