Mizoram to allow night church service twice a week

Aizawl: A review meeting to assess COVID-19 situation, held under the Chairmanship of Dr R Lalthangliana, Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Mizoram at SAD Conference Hall Tuesday decided to allow night church services twice a week, and also singing hymns at the church services. State Executive Committee on State Disaster Management has been tasked to prepare Standard Operating Procedure and issue an order for the effective date. 

The meeting also granted permission to organise night programmes at the Mizoram Presbyterian Church Synod for ‘Kohhran Hmeichhe Khawmpui Lian’ which will be held on March 10-11, 2021 at Khatla Presbyterian church. The meeting was informed that Zoram Medical College will be opened for non-covid patients from March 15. COVID ward and non-COVID wards are separately arranged and safety and precautionary measures have been thoroughly prepared for non-COVID patients seeking treatment at the Medical College. 

The meeting was attended by Lalchamliana, Home Minister, Dr ZR Thiamsanga, MLA, Medical Operational Team Chairman, representatives from Mizoram Kohhran Hruaitute Committee, Jt NGO Coordination Committee, Indian Medical Association,  Mizo Zirlai Pawl and officials from the state government.
