CM Biren greets people on Ramadan, Sajibu Nongma Panba

The Chief Minister also extended warm wishes on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba which falls on April 2.

Imphal: Chief Minister N Biren Singh wished the people of Manipur, especially Muslim brothers and sisters a peaceful and holy month of Ramazan/ Ramadan.

In his message, N Biren said, “Ramazan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is one of the most important observances for the Muslim community. During the holy month, Muslims purify their mind,  body, heart and soul by fasting and praying to the \almighty Allah.”

The Chief Minister further said that fasting during the month is considered one of the five pillars of Islam. “It is a practice of perseverance and self-restraint which give strength to both body and mind.” 

The Chief Minister also extended warm wishes on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba which falls on April 2.

“Sajibu Cheiraoba marks the beginning of a new lunar year for the Meitei community.  It brings people together through sharing and exchanging gifts”. 

As Sajibu Cheiraoba ushers in a new year, CM Biren prayed for an abundance of joy, good health and a happy, prosperous New Year for the people of Manipur.
