Russia imposes sanctions of Biden, Blinken

Earlier, the US had imposed new sanctions on Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko for allying with Russia in its war in Ukraine.

Moscow: Russia has imposed sanctions against US President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and other US officials, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

“In response to a series of unprecedented sanctions… from March 15 of this year, the Russian ‘stop list’ includes on the basis of reciprocity President J. Biden, Secretary of State A. Blinken, Secretary of Defense L. Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff M. Milley, as well as a number of departmental heads and well-known American figures,” CNN quoted the Ministry as saying.

Earlier, the US had imposed new sanctions on Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko for allying with Russia in its war in Ukraine. According to the US Treasury Department, a number of other Russians, including a Russian judge, were also targeted with sanctions for human rights abuses.

The European Union had also imposed a fourth package of economic and individual sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.
