Barack Obama tests Covid positive, Modi wishes for speedy recovery

Washington: Former US President Barack Obama announced on Sunday that he tested positive for Covid-19.

Taking to Twitter, he said, “I just tested positive for COVID. I’ve had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise. Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted, and she has tested negative.

“It’s a reminder to get vaccinated if you haven’t already, even as cases go down.”

According to Daily Mail, the former President did not mention whether either of his daughters Malia, 23, and Sasha, 20 were tested for the virus, but both are currently in college and likely away at school. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday wished former US President Barack Obama speedy recovery from Covid-19.

In a tweet, the PM said: “My best wishes @BarackObama for your quick recovery from COVID-19, and for your family’s good health and wellbeing.”
