Moscow: The place of the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine is secondary, the main thing is the fact of the meeting and the first round has taken place, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.
“In this case, the place is secondary, the main thing is the fact of the meeting. You know that the first round has taken place, we are grateful to the Belarusian side for creating excellent conditions for negotiations,” Peskov told reporters Thursday, commenting on the idea of other countries mediating in the negotiations with Ukraine and providing a platform for them.
The official added he has no doubt that the same conditions will be created by the Belarusian side this time as well.
“But the place is secondary. There is a possibility of direct communication, and the main thing is communication, and the main thing, of course, is the content of the negotiations. But, as we have already said, after all, this should not be a subject for public discussion,” he said.Â
