Imphal: Constituency-wise final randomnisation and commissioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines for Imphal West has been conducted.
The randomnisation and commissioning were held at different halls inside the DC Office Complex, Imphal West.
The process is conducted under the supervision of the concerned Returning Officers in the presence of Election Observers and designated agents of candidates.
As part of the commissioning process, mock polls were held on randomly selected EVMs and VVPATs to ensure proper functioning of the machines.
Following the commissioning process, the EVMs and VVPATS were once again shifted to the strong rooms, where they will be kept till they are dispatched for the polling stations.
Altogether 747 Control Units, 757 Balloting Units and 810 VVPATs were commissioned for the 530 Polling Stations in the 13 Assembly Constituencies in the district.
