Washington: According to the White House US President Joe Biden warned that there is a “distinct possibility” that Russia might invade Ukraine next month, the BBC reported on Friday.

This statement comes after a build-up of tens-of-thousands of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine in recent weeks stoking fears of an imminent invasion.

Reports said that the President Biden made these comments during a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday.

However, Russia has denied that it has plans or intention of attacking Ukraine, even as it has shown pessimism of resolving the crisis after the US rejected its main demands of ensuring that Ukraine is not allowed to become part of NATO.
