Gangtok: Sikkim has eight new Coronavirus cases and 46 active cases, said a government official.

Out of total 6145 cases registered so far, 5867 patients have been discharged on recovery, said Sonam Bhutia, IEC member.

Further, according to the directions of the Union Health Ministry, the second phase of Coronavirus vaccination for those aged 60 and above will be started from today .

Those from 45 to 59 with specified comorbidity will also be inoculated in this phase. Twenty such persons have been registered for today, added Bhutia.

0Vaccination will be done free of cost in government facilities, while empanelled private health facilities will charge Rs 250 per person, including service charges and cost per dose.
