Arunachal becomes Covid free

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh has become completely free of Coronavirus after three patients were discharged following their recovery from the virus, bringing the number of active cases to nil, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Of the three discharged, all were from Namsai. With this, the total recoveries tally stood at 16,780. The recovery rate is 99.66 per cent.

According to the bulletin, the state did not record any new Covid case in the last nine days.

The state has recorded 16,836 Covid cases so far of which 56 succumbed to the virus.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pema Khandu in a social media post wrote, “Active covid cases in Arunachal is zero. Proud of Team Arunachal and all citizens, CBOs and others who worked tirelessly. But let’s not lower our guards and continue to be vigilant.”

It may be mentioned here that Arunachal had reported it’s first Covid-19 case on April 2 last year.
