Tokyo: North Korea on Friday launched an unidentified missile, which fell outside of Japan’s exclusive economic zone, the NHK broadcaster reported.

The launch is the third one from the North in a little over a week, the South Korean military said. The previous ones were launched on January 5 and 11, Sputnik news agency reported.

The North’s latest saber-rattling came days after the US imposed new sanctions on six North Koreans involved in the reclusive regime’s weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programme, Yonhap News Agency reported.
