Revenue collection picks up in UP

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna on Saturday said the government departments have achieved a revenue target of 84.20 per cent with collecting of Rs 12,962.20 crore in the month of November 2021.
Thus, in the month of November 2021, Rs 2058.33 crore more revenue was received as compared to the month of November 2020 of the previous year.

Khanna said in a statement here that against the target of Rs 15389.83 crore in the month of November 2021-22 in the main non-tax revenue items, total revenue of Rs 12962.20 crore was received in the month of November 2021 which is around 84.20 per cent of the target.

He said that under GST, Rs 4583.22 crore were collected in November 2021 compared to Rs 3712.69 crore collected in November 2020. The revenue receipt under VAT in the month of November 2021 was Rs.2651.27 crore, while the receipt in the month of November 2020 last year was Rs.2147.54 crore.

Khanna, commenting on the receipt of non-tax revenue for the financial year 2021-22 of the state, said that in the month of November 2021 a total of Rs 3101.57 crore was collected through excise, whereas in the month of November 2020 last year, the receipt was Rs 2464.78 crore.

Under Stamp and Registration, the revenue receipt for the month of November 2021 is Rs.1620.65 crore whereas the receipt in the month of November 2020 last year was Rs.1628.00 crore. The revenue receipt for the month of November 2021 under transport is Rs 764.60 crore, while the receipt in the month of November 2020 last year was Rs 697.71 crore. Under the major items of non-tax revenue, the receipt in the month of November 2021 undermining is Rs 240.89 crore, whereas the receipt in the month of November 2020 last year was Rs 253.15 crore.

Khanna informed that in the financial year 2021-22 till November 2021, Rs. 90411.55 crore has been achieved against the target of Rs. 119212.08 crore under main tax revenue, which is 75.8 per cent of the target. In the financial year 2021-22 till November 2021, against the target of Rs.16415.09 crore, the total non-tax revenue receipt has been Rs.5148.66 crore. As against the target of Rs 65632.70 crore, Rs 50944.12 crore has been achieved till November 2021 under the item of tax revenue, GST and VAT, which is 77.60 per cent of the target.

He said that against the target of Rs 17707.77 crore on VAT, Rs 16938.74 crore has been achieved, which is 95.70 per cent.
The Finance Minister said that in the month of November for the financial year 2021-22, against the target of Rs 26916.00 crore, Rs 21896.08 crore has been achieved in the excise, which is 81.30 per cent of the target set till November. Against the target of Rs.16785.00 crore, Rs.12784.85 crore has been achieved under stamp and registration. He said that against the target of Rs 6194.38 crore till November in the financial year 2021-22, Rs 4445.68 crore has been achieved in respect of transport.
