Thursday sees one death, 24 positive cases, 34 recoveries

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Thursday, one person succumbed to Covid-19, taking Manipur’s cumulative death toll to 1966. During the same period, 24 persons from the general population tested positive while 34 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The lone person who succumbed to the deadly virus was from Imphal West, he had co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated for Covid.

Of the 24 persons who tested positive from the general population, eight are from Imphal West, five from Kakching, three from Kamjong, two each from Imphal East and Ukhrul and one each from Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal.

Altogether, 1,660 persons were tested for a positivity rate of 1.4 %.

Meanwhile, 34 persons recovered and were discharged, 10 of them from home isolation, 18 from CCCs, five from JNIMS and one from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.88 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 25,070 out of which 1,22,417 have recovered leaving 687 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on November 24, 2021, is 4,778, the cumulative number of doses administered is 21,22,498 (1st dose 12,73,906, 2nd dose 8,48,592).
