Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Wednesday, two more persons succumbed to Covid-19, taking Manipur’s cumulative death toll to 1965. During the same period, 39 persons from the general population tested positive while 26 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.
The two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Bishnupur and Imphal West respectively, both had co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated for Covid.
Of the 26 persons who tested positive from the general population, 20 are from Imphal West, 14 from Imphal East, two from Bishnupur and one each from Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul.
Altogether, 1,888 persons were tested for a positivity rate of 2.1 %.
Meanwhile, 426 persons recovered and were discharged, five of them from home isolation, 15 from CCCs, five from JNIMS and one from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.87 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 25,046 out of which 1,22,383 have recovered leaving 698 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on November 23, 2021, is 5,331, the cumulative number of doses administered is 21,17,663 (1st dose 12,72,945, 2nd dose 8,44,718).
