Monday sees four deaths, 35 new positive cases in Manipur

Three of the expired persons had co-morbidities and none of them had taken any dose of the Covid vaccine.

Imphal: Manipur reported four more Covid related deaths taking the cumulative tally to 1953 in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Monday. During the same period, 35 persons from the general population tested coronavirus positive while 26 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the health department.

The four persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Ukhrul respectively. Three of the expired persons had co-morbidities and none of them had taken any dose of the Covid vaccine.

Of the 35 persons who tested positive from the general population, 18 are from Imphal West, 12 are from Imphal East, two from Kakching and one each from Ukhrul, Bishnupur Chandel, Tengnoupal and Kamjong.

Altogether, 1,247 persons were tested giving a positivity rate of 2.8 %.

Meanwhile, 26 persons recovered and were discharged, eight of them from home isolation, 14 from CCCs, three from JNIMS and one from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.79 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 24,517 out of which 1,21,764 have recovered leaving 800 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on November 14, 2021, is 2,945, the cumulative number of doses administered is 20,59,714 (1st dose 12,61,813, 2nd dose 7,97,901).
