Patna: Bihar has been felicitated with the ‘Skoch’ award on Saturday for good governance for the online facilities being given to people to get listed for services under the Right to Public Service Act enforced in 2011.
Bihar was given the ‘Skoch’ governance gold award for the launch and successful execution of the RTPS Act. It was enforced on August 15, giving rights to people to get listed services from the government by requesting online within the stipulated time frame.
As per the provision of the RTPS Act, people can get birth certificates, caste certificates and other such listed services within the stipulated time frame by applying online. RTPS is based on the concept of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who has always been making efforts to provide good governance to the people of the state. The award has been given to Bihar Administrative Reforms Society, a unit functioning under the General Administration department of the government of Bihar.
Principal Secretary of General Administration department Chanchal Kumar expressed his happiness over Bihar getting the award. The state government would take more steps to provide good services to the people, he added.
