Himachal police searches for father who raped daughter

Hamirpur: Police in Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur is searching for a man who allegedly raped his daughter and fled, according to a complaint registered by his wife.

The accused fled from his rented accommodation after his wife lodged the complaint with the Women’s Cell of the district alleging that the father raped his 13-year-old daughter.

The absconder is a migrant labourer and was living with his family in Nadyana village.

The family lived in Bassi Jhaniara gram panchayat of the district and the police have registered a case under the POCSO act, according to Akriti Sharma, SP, Hamirpur.

She said that the police were on the job to trace the accused after the complaint was lodged by her wife. She said that a photo of the accused has also been released to the people through WhatsApp to gather information.
