Imphal: Intervening on the allegation of supply of smaller diameter sprinklers as opposed to that mandated under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), Chief Minister N Biren Singh stated on the floor of the House Friday that if any firm is found guilty of s such a thing, it will be immediately blacklisted and appropriate actions will be taken.
This happened during question hour when MLA Loken Singh said that of the three empanelled firms, one particular firm, M/s Wahengbam Irrigation Enterprises, Wangoi was supplying smaller diameter Sprinkler than it is required to do. When the minister replied that he will look into the matter, MLA Loken pointed out that the issue had been highlighted by media reports on September 24, 2020 and the Minster did nothing about it all this while and even today is saying he will look into it. Not satisfied with minister Lukhoi answer, MLA Loken turned to the leader of the House to do something about it. It was then that the Chief Minister intervened and assured immediate action.
Replying to a question from MLA D Korungthang, the Leader of the House N Biren Singh replying informed the House that Rs. 146.00 lakhs have been sanctioned for the construction for Upgradation of Residential School, Manipur (8-Rooms) at Heinoukhong, Tengnoupal. For the construction of 100-bedded hostel at Residential School, Heinoukhong, Tengnoupal, Rs. 250.00 lakhs was sanctioned and added that Manipur Minorities & OBC Economic Development Society (MOBEDS) is the implementing agency.
Agriculture Minister O Lukhoi Singh replying to a query from MLA N Loken said that seeds purchased for Rabi crops namely Gram, Moong, Lentil, Pea, Maize and Mustard have been allocated to all the District Agriculture Officers for the year 2020-21 in November 2020 for distribution to the farmers. In his supplementary, the MLA wanted to know exactly what quantity of these crops have been distributed to farmers of Bishnupur District and particularly to farmers of Nambol constituency. The Minister assured to provide the details before the Appropriation bill comes up Monday, Feb 22.
