CBI registers 2 more cases on Bengal post-poll violences; 37 FIRs filed so far

Kolkata: The Central Bureau of Investigation, probing the post-poll murders, rapes and violence cases across West Bengal, has registered two more cases, official sources said on Friday.

Sources said the central agency has registered an FIR with the Manikchack police station of Malda district in relation to an alleged rape of a minor girl on June 5 last.

The other case was earlier registered at the Nodakhali police station in South 24 Parganas in relation to an alleged assault to the complainant’s elder brother by hurting his head. It was further alleged that the accused also beat up the wife of the complainant’s elder brother. She received blows on her head with bamboo when she tried to save him.
The doctor at Muchisa Hospital referred them to Kolkata but the wife of his elder brother expired enroute. The elder brother was still in the SSKM Hospital in serious condition.

With the filing of two FIRs, the CBI is investigating the murders,rapes and serious crimes.37 cases have been registered across West Bengal so far.
