New Delhi: BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra on Monday hit out at former Congress president Rahul Gandhi for playing politics over farmers’ protest and accusing him of milking the movement for political benefit.

Patra alleged that “Rahul Gandhi is well aware that the Congress party is running without leadership, so Congress is unable to raise the real issue on the ground, that’s why they try to do politics through false photographs.

Addressing a press conference here, Patra said, “Whenever there is politics of illusion and lies, Rahul Gandhi was behind it. Today Rahul Gandhi tweeted the old pictures of farmers’ movement and described it as the present photo.

Partra remarks came after Rahul Gandhi shared the pictures of Muzaffarnagar farmers’ protest on his twitter account which Patra alleged of “false photographs”.

Taking potshots over the lack of leadership in the party, Patra said, “It has become a habit of Rahul Gandhi to not take his party forward, not work hard and keep the party without a president,”.

“Rahul Gandhi tries to run the party based on false propaganda and points the gun at other’s shoulder,” he alleged.

Patra said, “The world‘s fastest and largest vaccination campaign is going on in India, the whole world is appreciating it. But Rahul Gandhi does not do a single tweet in the context of vaccination,”.

Patra asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is working towards the upliftment of the farmers.
