Kohima: The new cases of COVID-19 in Nagaland increased to 47 new cases, which increased the total number of corona virus-infected cases rose to 29, 669 and with one more death, the toll remained at 611.
According to a Nagaland Health Department bulletin today, among the 47 fresh COVID cases yesterday, the new cases were detected from eight districts of Nagaland with 18 cases in Dimapur, 13 cases in Kohima, 11 in Mokokchung, three in Phek, one in Mon and on in Peren, taking the total caseload to 29669. Out of the 47 cases, a total of 25 new cases were detected from self-tests and random tests, 14 from traced contacts, five from frontline workers, two from returnees or travellers and one from armed forces and security personnel.
On the recovery of COVID-19 patients in the State, altogether 73 patients were cured of the disease during the day, out of which 26 patients were from Dimapur, 19 from Kohima, 12 from Mokokchung, six from Kiphire, four from Zunheboto, three from Mon, two from Peren and one from Tuensang. With this, the increasing total of recoveries in the state now stands at 27,311, taking the total number of recovery of COVID patients to 27,238, with a recovery rate of 91.76%.
Nagaland yesterday had 888 active patients, out of which 649 are in home isolation and 76 are admitted in COVID Hospitals across the state.
As per the severity of symptoms, 696 active cases are asymptomatic, 150 are mild symptomatic, 18 are moderate on oxygen, 11 are severe on oxygen, three are in ICU without the ventilator and 10 patients are admitted in ICUs on ventilators, the bulletin said. With one more death reported from Dimapur, the death toll rose to 611, the bulletin informed.
