Arunachal reports 154 new Covid cases; two succumb

Itanagar: As many as 154 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s infection tally to 50,070, while the death toll rose to 242 as two more patients succumbed to the disease.

Of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the maximum at 52, followed by West Kameng 28 and Lohit 25, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Thirteen cases were also reported from Lower Subansiri, Papum Pare 10, Changlang seven, Tawang and East Siang five each East Kameng four, Leparada three, Lower Dibang Valley and Lower Siang one each.

Barring 40, all the patients are asymptomatic.

According to the bulletin, of the fresh casualties, one each was reported from Lower Subansiri and East Siang.

On a positive note, 345 patients were discharged following their recovery from the virus, taking the total recoveries to 47,148. The recovery rate is over 94 per cent.

Active cases tally stands at 2,680.
