Itanagar: As many as 254 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s infection tally to 39,817, while the death toll rose to 189 as one more succumbed to the virus.
Of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 106, followed by Longding 21 and West Kameng 17, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.
Fourteen cases were also reported from West Siang, East Siang 13, Lower Dibang Valley 11, Papum Pare and Lohit 10 each, East Kameng nine, Tirap eight, Changlang seven, Lower Subansiri five, Kamle four, Anjaw, Leparada and Pakke Kessang three each, Namsai, Tawang and Upper Subansiri two each, Lower Siang and Siang one each.
Barring 101, all the patients are asymptomatic.
According to the bulletin, the fresh casualty was reported from Lohit. A 44-year-old man who was referred to AMCH, Dibrugarh (Assam) passed away on Saturday. The body was handed over to the family members as per Covid-19 SOP.
On a positive note, 276 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours , taking the total recoveries to 35,910. The recovery rate is over 90 percent.
Active cases tally stands at 3,718.
