Arunachal logs 478 new Covid-19 cases; death toll mounts to 188

Itanagar: As many as 478 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s caseload to 39,563.

The death toll rose to 188 as two more succumbed to the virus.

Of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 131, followed by Lohit 54 and West Kameng 48, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Of these, 310 patients are asymptomatic and 168 symptomatic, it said.

According to the bulletin, a 48-year-old man from Itanagar Capital Complex passed away on Saturday at DCH, Chimpu here, while a 75-year-old man died at his residence at Khupa, Hayuliang in Anjaw district.

A total of 293 patients were discharged across the state, which pushed the recovery tall to 35,364. The recovery rate is over 90 percent.

Active cases tally stands at 3,741.
