2 apprehended with around 40,000 WY tablets

The estimated value of the seized tablet in local market is around Rs 6,00,000, in national market around Rs 20,00,000 and in international market around Rs 2,00,00,000.

Imphal: A team of NAB Manipur arrested Md. Sahidur Rahaman (30yrs) son of  late Noor Rahaman, resident of Heikrumakhong, Ipum Mapal, Imphal East and Md. Abir Khan (37yrs) son of Md. Allauddin Khan,  resident of Moreh Ward No.V, Tengnoupal District at Old Lambulane near GP Women’s College along with one Wagon R car bearing Registration No. AS-01U/2003 driven by them on Tuesday, around 4.15 pm.

On searching the vehicle in presence of witnesses, 4 tightly wrapped plastic packets suspected to be containing a total of about 40,000 WY tablets (methamphetamine type narcotic drugs) were recovered from the said vehicle at their instance and their production. The recovered items along with the Wagon R have been seized.

A case has been registered against the arrested accused persons with NAB Police Station in this regard. Further investigation is going on, as per a press note issued by PRO Manipur Police, Meghachandra Konjengbam.

The estimated value of the seized tablet in local market is around Rs 6,00,000, in national market around Rs 20,00,000 and in international market around Rs 2,00,00,000. 

Meanwhile, a team of Bishnupur commandos arrested one person namely, Md. Fakkaruddin Khulakpam(35yrs) son of Md. Siraj Ali of Kwakta Ward No. 8(KMC) from Kwakta Maronglou on July 4, 2021 at around 8.00 am and seized Heroin No. 4 weighing about 243 grams and one Honda DIO scooter without regd. No. from his possession.

The arrested person along with the seized items were handed over to Moirang Police Station and a case has been registered at Moirang Police Station for further investigation, said a press note issued by the PRO Manipur police, Meghachandra Konjengbam.
